UC Merced's Center for Analytic Political Engagement (CAPE) is hosting an educator showcase for AP Government and U.S. History teachers across the San Joaquin Valley. Join us to explore how CAPE trains the next generation of civic leaders — and learn how to connect your students with UC Merced's top Political Science program. Attendees will also have the opportunity to become affiliates of the CAPE recruiting network and receive a special invitation to bring their top students to a recruiting event in the fall.

What is the purpose of this event?
CAPE's Educator Showcase is designed to connect AP Government and U.S. History teachers with UC Merced's Political Science program and CAPE Civic Scholars initiative. Our goal is to build partnerships with educators across the San Joaquin Valley who can help identify and recruit future civic leaders to UC Merced. During this event, we will tour the UC Merced campus, meet with faculty and current students, attend program demonstrations & activities, and last but not least, enjoy lunch with CAPE affiliates.

Is there a fee to attend?
This is a free event. We look forward to hosting you on campus.
Is lunch included?
Yes — CAPE will provide lunch along with morning and afternoon refreshments. We'll also send you home with some UC Merced swag!
Do I need to pay for parking?
No. CAPE will reserve designated parking spaces for the event, so no parking pass is needed.
Will substitute coverage be available?
We hope your district will support your attendance by arranging appropriate coverage. If any questions or concerns arise, feel free to connect us directly with your administrators, and we will help facilitate your participation.
